Welcome to Saponification Canada

Hi, I’m Arlene, the heart and hands behind Saponification Canada. My journey into handmade soapmaking began during a time of uncertainty for all of us—when COVID-19 turned the world upside down. Like many, I found myself washing my hands endlessly, and while it was necessary, my skin bore the brunt of it. Cracked, dry hands needed a solution, and that's where my love for soapmaking was born.

I started with one simple goal: to create nourishing, gentle soaps that wouldn’t just cleanse but would care for my skin. What began as a practical need quickly grew into a deep passion. I spent years researching, experimenting, and perfecting the art of saponification (a fancy word for turning oils into soap!) and discovered the incredible creativity and joy it brings.

Now, I’m excited to share that passion with you through Saponification Canada. My mission is to craft soaps that not only feel luxurious but are also made with love and thoughtfully chosen ingredients. I’m thrilled to start this blog as a space to share my story, insights, and maybe even inspire you to explore this beautiful craft yourself.
